MSI has added a new gaming notebook to its line of offerings that uses the Intel Sandy Bridge platform. The machine is called the MSI GT680R-008US. I have had my hands on a few of these MSI gaming notebooks and they are generally pretty cool devices. The new machine has a Core i7-2630QM processor inside.

Other features of the notebook include a 15.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and OLED backlighting. The graphics for the notebook are via GeForce GTX 460M with 1.5GB of DDR5 RAM just for the video card. MSI puts 8GB of DDR3 1066MHz RAM inside the machine and 1TB of total storage.

That 1TB of storage comes from a pair of 7200rpm 500GB HDDs. 802.11b/g/n WiFi is built in along with Bluetooth and THX TruStudio Pro audio. The notebook also has MSI cooler boost tech and Dynaudio premium sound speakers. Rounding out the features is a USB 3.0 port, 720p webcam, and HDMI output. The notebook can be ordered right now for $1649.99.
