Notion Ink Adam tablet finally going to ship

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Jan 20, 2011 4:00 pm

Notion Ink has been talking up the Adam Android tablet for a long time now. The tablet has hit some speed bumps along the way from a concept to a real product that have seen some delays in getting the thing into the hands of those that pre-ordered. The last delay for the tablet came at the start of January.

The FCC got backlogged during the holidays and was unable to get the FCC number the tablet needed out in time for the Adam to ship and meet its previous target. As of today, Notion Ink is ready to ship the tablets and the machines have the number they needed installed. The shipping started Jan 19 on pre-orders that are being filled.

One bit of good news for those that pre-ordered and had a delivery date set for February was announced too. Notion Ink says that if your ship date was February when you ordered, your tablet will be going out the last week of January. After a lot of delays, it's cool to see early deliveries.
