OCZ shows off Vertex 3 Pro running next-gen Sandforce SSD controller

OCZ whip some arse with the Vertex 3 Pro

OCZ may be out of the memory business, but now they're focused on kicking arse and taking names in the SSD business. Enter, OCZ Vertex 3 Pro which sports the next-gen SandForce SF-2582 controller running a Serial ATA 6Gbps interface.

Running the ATTO disk benchmark the drive was pushing sustained read/write speeds of an insane 550 and 525MB/sec respectively. OCZ has said that the final version of the Vertex 3 will use different flash memory than was was in the demo unit.

 

The Vertex 3 Pro is due in the next couple of months.
