Apple possibly looking to place antenna behind logo of future devices

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Dec 24, 2010 3:54 am

As intensely popular as the iPhone 4 is, the antenna issues that plagued the phone was enough to turn many buyers away that didn't want to have to use a bumper to better their call signal. It looks like Apple is searching for ways to avoid this mess in the future with their latest patent filing.

According to the filing, it looks like Apple is attempting to find a way to install the antenna behind the Apple logo both on the iPhone and Macbooks. With this new "logo antenna," the device's signal should be unaffected by the way a user grips the phone on the sides. But what about the bighanded types that cover up this new logo antenna with the back of their hands? Apple has thought of this, haven't they? We'll have to wait and see.
