3D maps and offline navigation among new features

Our Mobile App of the Day today is Google Maps 5.0 for Android.

Yes, Google Maps has been around for awhile. Their latest build which we covered a couple days ago has some fun new features, and it is now available for download/update.

The biggest addition is three dimensional maps, which gives you a better view of the landscape and can be tilted with a two finger swipe. The new vector graphics being implemented allows for lighter weight maps than before, which ties in with offline navigation now being available for your favorite locations. These two new features are only available on Android 2.0 or later, and of course the app is free. Grab it at the QR code after the break or on the Android Market.
