RIM acquires Swedish interface developers The Astonishing Tribe
RIM made quite a few waves today with their announcement that they have acquired
The Astonishing Tribe(TAT), a Swedish mobile interface team that had a hand in developing Android's look in its early stages.

No specifics on money or timelines were given, but RIM CTO David Yach stated in the release that he's "excited that the TAT team will be joining RIM and bringing their talent to the BlackBerry PlayBook and smartphone platforms." The folks at TAT are indeed really creative when it comes to mobile interface; not only have they had their hands on Android but also in projects like Fujitsu's dual touchscreen phone with its flick to share interface. BlackBerries could get a whole lot cooler in the near future.
