New Acer tablet to be powered by AMD Bobcat APU

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Nov 26, 2010 3:00 am

Wow, it actually looks swish - below, we have a picture and some details on an upcoming Acer tablet, which to be different to the norm, is running in unnamed hardware from AMD.

While it should be the Bobcat APU - it of course can't be fully confirmed. Digitimes is reporting that it's running an AMD C-50 "Ontario" APU. The chip includes a Radeon HD 6250 graphics-core and fits into a 9W package. It should give the device great performance and power-consumption which is perfect for a tablet.

The source also states that it will include two 1.3MP webcams, WiFi and 3G connectivity - with a launch date of February 2011.
