VisionTek expanding Manufacturing Capabilities

By: (more) | Posted: Jun 19, 2002 4:48 pm

Gurnee, IL - (June 18, 2002) -VisionTek, a leading provider of advanced graphics and memory products for PCs, today announced that it has completed a plan to expand its manufacturing capabilities to include overseas production of aftermarket 3D graphics boards.

VisionTek is shifting from a single site manufacturing strategy to a global manufacturing strategy, allowing the company to streamline the efficiency of its business and increase cost effectiveness. First-to-market and OEM PC graphics products will continue to be manufactured in North America, while high volume and mid-to-low cost products will be built to VisionTek's exacting standards by a qualified Asian partner.

"We have experienced explosive growth over the last year. Entering the European market and earning the number one spot in U.S. retail has driven worldwide demand for our graphics products to such a level that we need to expand manufacturing to include overseas capabilities," said Mark Polinsky, co-founder and CEO of VisionTek. "As our business model shifts, we will continue to evaluate the best methods of delivering VisionTek products to our customers while raising our service levels to the highest in the industry."
