Apple working on built in SIM cards for iPhone
Apple is said to be tinkering with a built in SIM card that will become an integrated part of iPhones instead of a swappable card. This would allow iPhone owners to purchase their iPhones directly from Apple and choose their own GSM network without having to change SIM cards.

While this wouldn't be the largest news in the U.S. due to the current AT&T exclusivity, places like Europe with multiple GSM networks and none of the silly single carrier nonsense may have the carriers cut out of the iPhone purchasing process with this technology. Cutting out the middleman on iPhone sales would be a sweet deal for Apple, if not the carriers that support them.
