The Playstation Phone makes its presence felt

Slider hides much more fun than a silly old QWERTY keyboard

The Playstation Phone has been circling around the rumor mill since August, but now it's seems there's some hard evidence that it's coming. Engadget has gotten their hands on a slew of pictures of the new device, likely coming in early 2011.

Apparently figuring that the PSP Go doesn't appeal to a broad enough audience, the Playstation Phone is Android based (reportedly running Gingerbread) and is based around a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 CPU. 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, a screen between 3.7 to 4.1 inches make up the technical specs. Notably absent is the use of Sony's Memory Stick, with the Playstation Phone going to microSD for storage.

The leaked unit is still an early (and very buggy) prototype, but it's a fun looking device; especially with the funky looking trackpad in the middle. These leaks usually pour faster once they've started, so we're sure there's more to come. Check out more pics at the Source Link.
