LTE-friendly SIM cards may be on their way to AT&T devices

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Oct 22, 2010 10:00 pm

Although there's still no official word as to when AT&T will start officially supporting LTE, their choice of flavor for 4G, it looks like they're getting their devices ready for the jump. According to a leaked slide, new LTE-friendly SIM cards are already on the way.

The new cards look to be recognizable by an SKU ending in 53 instead of 47, but probably not much past that. The iPhone 4 has been left out for now due to requiring a micro SIM card to work, unlike most other devices. Sometimes it's not so great being different, is it Apple? Anyways, AT&T fans that are still waiting on an official rollout announcement still have to wait, but it's nice to see some baby steps being taken to get to LTE.
