Mobile App of the Day: Winamp for Android

The classic music player hits the mobile scene

| Mobile Devices News | Posted: Oct 21, 2010 10:57 pm

Our Mobile App of the Day today is Winamp for Android.

Winamp has been on the music player scene since 1997, offering desktop users a pretty nice alternative to the standard fare like Windows Media Player. Winamp has now gone mobile; announcing availability on the Android platform today.

Not only does Winamp for Android offer up a "complete media management solution" for your Android device, but you can also sync via Wi-Fi or USB or to your desktop library if you are running the Winamp 5.59 beta on your PC. Scrobbling with Last.fm is also supported, as well as a widget to run Winamp from your home screen and even your lock screen. The PC beta required for sync can be downloaded here, and you can search the Android Market for Winamp to grab the app or scan the QR code after the break.
