MacBook Pro receives 2.8 GHz Core i7 upgradeability

3.4GHz turbo boosting could be possible

It wasn't big news at Apple's Mac event today, but the MacBook Pro is getting a little more juice under the hood. For an extra $400, 15 inch and 17 inch MacBook Pros can now be configured with a blazing fast 2.8GHz Core i7 processor.

Most believe that this processor is the Core i7-640m that Intel released last month, which would give you the ability to turbo boost this MacBook to 3.4GHz. That's obviously quite speedy for a laptop, even if you are paying the famous Apple premium price to get it.
