Cooler Master debuts Choiix Power Fort external battery

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Oct 20, 2010 6:00 pm

The only thing that tends to come to my mind when I hear the Cooler Master name is computer cases. The company consistently makes some of the coolest cases on the market today. Cooler Master isn't all cases though; the company also has all sorts of other gear including cooling stands for notebooks and more. The latest product from CM is the new Choiix Power Fort external battery pack.

The battery packs has a rechargeable lithium ion battery inside with 1500mAh of power. That power is fed out to any device that charges with USB. The single USB port on the battery pack has 1A, which should mean it works with the iPad and anything else from cameras to GPS devices and the iPhone.

According to Cooler Master, the battery is able to add 6 hours of GPS/PDA runtime, up to 8 hours of additional smartphone use, and as much as 48 hours more run time for iPods. The device is very thin and portable with a battery that retains 85% of its original capacity after 300 charges. Pricing and availability are unknown.
