Mobile App of the Day: TomTom for iPhone

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Oct 20, 2010 1:30 pm

Our Mobile App of the Day today is TomTom for iPhone.

TomTom is one of the biggest names in the dedicated GPS industry and their mobile app is pretty popular with those who don't want to fiddle with a dedicated GPS device. TomTom for iPhone has been upgraded to version 1.5 with a few new features being included.

TomTom's latest update includes iPhone 4 optimization, which allows the app to take advantage of the devices high resolution graphics and responsiveness along with making maps more accurate. The new "Navigate to Photo" feature allows you to tap on an image and get turn by turn directions to the location. Updated maps give TomTom a million more miles worth of roads than their competitors with constant updates to keep everything current. It's a little pricey at $49.99, but if you're a traveler with an iPhone you can grab the updated app on iTunes now.
