Amazon App Store reportedly coming to Android devices

Interesting app submission rules will be in place

| Mobile Devices News | Posted: Oct 8, 2010 2:58 am

Amazon doesn't seem to be happy with only having the Kindle Store available on Android anymore. Reports from the Wall Street Journal are confirming rumors that surfaced a few weeks ago that Amazon is releasing an app store for the Android platform.

It takes some stones to battle Android's own store on their home turf, but Amazon seems to think there will be a way. Details are sketchy at this point, but some app developer submission rules have leaked. It seems that an app cannot be sold for less by any other app store, as well as the app cannot have been on sale for greater than two weeks anywhere else. These are some strange requirements considering that Amazon may want to pick up apps that may be popular elsewhere, but as this is all preliminary info this could all be subject to change.
