FireFox Mobile Beta available for Android and Maemo

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Oct 7, 2010 11:51 pm

After quite a bit of waiting, promises, and leaks, Firefox Mobile seems to be officially ready to be cut loose on the Android and Maemo platforms. The official Firefox Beta is now available for Android and Maemo, and is packing quite a few cool features.

Firefox desktop users will be happy to know that you can sync your bookmarks, history, tabs, passwords, and form-fill data with your mobile device. Pinch to zoom is fully supported and a custom start screen is available that gives access to past browsing sessions and opened tabs from other computers. Firefox Mobile's Beta is also reportedly a ton faster than the Alpha versions which made people cringe with its unresponsiveness and snail-like pace of browsing. If you want to give it a try, grab the download here or scan the QR code after the jump.
