Panasonic Lumix camera phone unveiled

Lumix phone headed to market

| Mobile Devices News | Posted: Oct 1, 2010 5:04 pm

Panasonic has a full line of digital cameras here in the US that are also sold around the world going by the Lumix name. The cameras are generally very good and are popular on the market globally. Panasonic has announced that it will be launching a Lumix mobile phone this month in Japan. The phone will naturally be focused on high quality pictures.

The details that Panasonic has offered so far include that the phone will use a Mobile VenusEngine to give better image quality. The phone will have integrated flash and a 13MP sensor. Panasonic says that the shutter button will be easy to press and the LCD will be easy to see for operating as a touch panel in camera mode.

The images taken on the camera will be able to be sent immediately over WiFi or in email attachments. Data, images, and other content can be stored on microSDHC cards that are sold separately. For WiFi an optional module is apparently required. More information on the camera phone will be offered on October 5.
