Verizon debuts Mobile Recovery app for smartphones on their network

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Sep 28, 2010 12:17 am

Always losing your Verizon wireless device? Verizon's Mobile Recovery is just what forgetful people need to track down their precious phone. Now offered as a free app for Total Equipment Coverage subscribers, this Mobile Recovery app offers several options for tracking down a BlackBerry, Android, or webOS device.

When the app is installed, users will be able to remotely lock their phone, sound an alarm (even if the phone is on vibrate or silent), and offer GPS directions to the device with turn by turn directions and an address if the phone is out of earshot. If you can't find your phone, Verizon offers next day replacement and the ability to remotely wipe and use BackUp Assistant to load up their new phone with their address books. This may seem like old hat to iPhone users, but it will be great for those that live an iOS free lifestyle.
