Kensington KeyFolio iPad case adds a keyboard

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Sep 23, 2010 5:04 pm

I really like my iPad and I would use it to work on the go if I wanted in place of my netbook. The only downside is that I would rather have a physical keyboard for typing documents and stuff if I took the iPad with me. I can type on the onscreen keyboard quickly, but a real keyboard would be much more comfortable.

Kensington has unveiled a new accessory that is up for pre-order called the KeyFolio. The thing is a synthetic leather case with a Bluetooth keyboard inside. That keyboard works with anything on the iPad and has iPad specific action keys as well. The keys of the keyboard are rubber coated to protect the iPad screen when the case is closed.

The case also acts as an adjustable stand to hold the iPad in landscape mode and it has no magnets to harm the iPad. The working time per charge is 90 hours and the battery needs 4.5 hours to recharge fully. Standby time for the battery is up to 100 days and it has 430mAh of power. The pre-order price is $99.99.
