Toyota Australia goes Windows 7

By: (more) | Technology in Vehicles News | Posted: Sep 20, 2010 6:34 am

Toyota Australia signs new four-year IT deal.

The new deal will be announced this week, has also been increased to include desktop management and service desk functions. The bulk of Toyota's computing services functions, including mid-range and mainframe computing will now run under a single agreement with Fujitsu.

Included in the desktop part of the deal, Fujitsu will roll out Microsoft's Windows 7 OS to it's end users.

The value of the new four-year deal is not yet known, but it's more than likely less than it paid previously - partly because of the declining hardware costs of the last few years.
