MSI has added quite a few new notebooks to its line over the last few weeks. Today the company has unveiled two new machines that are slipping into the gaming/multimedia line up the company offers. The new notebooks are the GX660 and the GX660R. Both share some of the same features and should work well for multimedia and moderate gaming.
The GX660 has a 15.6-inch TFT LCD that is LED backlit. It uses an ATI Radeon HD 5870 video card with 1GB of GDDR5 RAM. It also has 4GB of RAM, 500GB of storage, WiFi, Bluetooth, and USB 3.0. The machine also gets a 720p HD webcam and HDMI output. The CPU is an Intel Core i5-450M and the price for the notebook starts at $1449.99.
The GX660R has the same specifications with a few notable changes. The screen is updated to a 1920 x 1080 resolution unit and the CPU is a Core i7-740QM unit. The GX660R also gets 6GB of RAM, 640GB of storage, and a Blu-ray drive. The 660R starts at $1749.99. These should be able to play games well enough and support all the HD video you want.
