Back in Q1 2010 Acer was able to beat Dell to take the second place spot on the iSuppli list of the top five shippers of computers around the world. The latest numbers are in from iSuppli this time running down the top shippers in the PC market for Q2 2010. There have been some changes at the top of the list and lots of negative growth for major players.
Dell was able to beat Acer out and recapture its second place spot on the list. Dell shipped 10.5 million PCs for the quarter giving it 12.8% of the market. Acer shipped 10.1 million PCs giving it 12.4% of the market. Dell lost 1.2% compared to Q1 while Acer lost 6.2%. The leader for the 16th quarter in a row on the list is HP.
Interestingly HP had the largest loss of any player on the list compared to Q1 at 6.3%. HP shipped 14.9 million PCs for the quarter with 19.6% of the market. The only company to grow in the top five was Lenovo with a huge 18.6% growth for the quarter. Toshiba is fifth place with 5.4% of the market.
