Nuu Mini Key turns iPhone 4 into keyboard packing clamshell device

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Sep 6, 2010 7:04 pm

One of the things that people who like the idea of the iPhone, but don't buy cite as a reason is that the iPhone lacks a QWERTY keyboard. The lacking physical keyboard iPhone users have only a virtual onscreen keyboard to use. That onscreen keyboard is very good, but if you are the type that wishes you had a physical keyboard a company called Nuu is coming to your rescue.

Nuu was showing off a new case for the iPhone 4 at IFA last week called the Mini Key. The case prevents the antenna issue with the iPhone 4 and protects the phone from drops at the same time. The big feature though is the QWERTY keyboard on the bottom section of the case.

Once the iPhone is inside the case it is more of a clamshell device. The keyboard connects to the iPhone via Bluetooth and lets you type all you want with real keys. The keyboard uses Bluetooth v2.0 and a HID compliant Broadcom chip along with a rechargeable battery for power. The keyboard will reportedly hit stores in time for Christmas at $69.
