Gigabyte offers up the only passive Radeon HD5770 graphics card around

Most video cards have fans that keep the GPU and other heat generating components on the card cool. Some of the lower power video cards are passively cooled making them silent. A very quiet video card is very desirable when you are putting the card inside a computer that will be in a living room for a HTPC or in a bedroom where noise can be a bother.

Gigabyte has announced the market's only passively cooled Radeon HD5770 video card. The card supports all of the features that the standard 5770 card support like DirectX 11, Eyefinity, ATI Stream, CrossFireX and more. The card is officially called the Gigabyte GV-R577SL-1GD.

The card has 1GB of GDDR5 RAM and the heat sink has four heat pipes with a large copper base plate for the best heat transfer. The overall cooling capacity is increased with a couple extra fins to 52.87% of the surface of the GPU.
