Dell launch new 11.6-inch Inspiron M101z for just $699

Dell have made available a new 11.6-inch ultra-portable to the Australian market today as a new member to its Inspiron family; the M101z.

This unit comes with an optional dual-core AMD Athlon II Neo processor running at 1.3GHz, or you can go for the cheaper single core Neo K125 which operates at 1.7GHz. Everything else is much of a standard fare; including 2GB RAM and a 250GB HDD running Windows 7 Home Basic in base form, with options to boost it to 4GB with a 320GB HDD and 7 Home Premium if the wallet allows.

Dell claims battery life to be around six hours with this unit, but reports abroad are saying you can more or less expect four hours out of it if you're relatively light on usage.

Of course, Dell gives a range of colour options with the M101z including Peacock Blue, Tomato Red, Promise Pink and good ole' black.

Price? Dell's doing it down under for $699 which seems very reasonable in line of what a lot of the netbook market has to offer in this price range. But keep in mind, this is in base form with the single core CPU.
