Amazon Kindle Store hits the U.K.

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Aug 5, 2010 11:22 pm

Amazon has officially opened a Kindle Store for the U.K., after years of U.K. customers having to purchase e-books from the American site in American dollars and have Kindles shipped internationally.

The Kindle 3 is set to drop in the U.K. on August 27th for £109 for the WiFi model and £149 for the 3G model. The U.K. Kindle Store will have over 400,000 titles available and e-book reviews from locals instead of depending on American reviews. 80 of the top 100 titles on the Nielsen UK bestseller list are represented in the store.
