Android takes first place in mobile phone sales for Q2 2010

Well, it's official: Android has taken the top spot in U.S. mobile sales according to NPD. Knocking Blackberry off the perch they have been cozy on since the last quarter of 2007, Android based phones comprised 33 percent of mobile phone sales in Q2 2010. Blackberry slipped to second place with 28 percent of the market, and Apple's iPhone lineup takes the third spot with 22 percent. With the huge success of phones from Motorola and HTC, it seemed only a matter of time until we saw this officially. RIM had better hope that their recently unveiled Torch can kickstart the love for Blackberry once again………
