Intel I845G Rumours

By: (more) | Posted: Apr 15, 2002 1:37 pm

Intel has had the computer market on the edge of their seats lately with the Pentium 4 Northwood CPU's and their first of what we hope will be many DDR-SDRAM Pentium 4 chipsets, the I845. With information about Intel moving to 533FSB, we have learnt that Intel's current I845 chipset is not going to be the one that supports this new CPU. Intel has its plans for the new 533FSB version, the I845G chipset.

This chipset is essentially the I845 with an improved memory controller, 533FSB support and increase Queue depth. Rumours from reliable sources of ours also have it that Intel might be supporting DDR-333 but we are not sure if that will come into the G or E series of the chipset. The information above is based purely on speculation, but comes from reliable and trustworthy sources. Let's see what the future pans out for us!
