StarCraft II lacks anti-aliasing support

By: (more) | Gaming News | Posted: Jul 27, 2010 3:16 pm

Fans of the StarCraft franchise are undoubtedly excited today with the StarCraft II game hitting the market. The downside is that the game lacks support for a basic graphics element to prevent jaggies in the game.

Blizzard chose to not implement anti-aliasing in the game for some reason. The lack of AA in the game gets a work around via NVIDIA drivers for those using NV hardware.

However, NVIDIA admits that its method of introducing AA isn't as efficient as if the developer of the game had simply included it. I wonder if a patch can be made by Blizzard to add AA if there is a big enough backlash from players.
