NAVIGON to add exclusive Motion Sensor feature to next-gen GPS'

Less touching and cleaner layout

NAVIGON are quickly becoming a big player in the Australian GPS market and we have learned through a couple quick reviews of their mid range and top end GPS models currently on shelves that they know how to put together a well equipped, reliable unit at a good price.

In always looking to the skies (pun not intended), NAVIGON is enhancing select premium-class next-gen GPS units with an innovative new Motion Sensor feature that allows you to navigate with much more minimal touch operation required. A simple stroke of the frame or a simple wave across the display is all it takes to bring up the menu bar; otherwise tucked away in the background, thus improving map view orientation with up to a 15% larger map segment.

You can also simply touch the display or housing to activate Voice Control which gives hands free use to key features via spoken commands.

No word on when exactly NAVIGONs next-gen GPS units are hitting the AU market, nor at what pricing, but obviously they aren't far away now. We'll keep you posted come launch and hope to get a few in for some hands-on time to see just how well the Motion Sensor feature works for ourselves.
