Amazon Kindle DX preorders open; shipping July 7th

Price dropped from $489 to $379

Amazon has started taking preorders for their new and improved Kindle e-reader, known as the Kindle DX. People that have been looking forward to this device will also appreciate the serious price cut that has been announced as well; down from the original $489 USD to $379.

This is just one of the many price drops the e-reader market has seen as they try to stay viable in a tablet encrazed market. The Kindle DX boasts 50% better contrast than the previous Kindle for easier reading, a 9.7" screen, 3G Wireless connectivity, text to speech, and a battery that can go up to two weeks when using the Kindle as a reader only device.
