PS3 update v3.40 goes live
If you have been waiting for the update for the PS3 to go live that brings with it access to the new PlayStation Plus service we heard about at E3, the wait is over. The update for the PS3 is now live.

Along with the PlayStation Plus service, the update also adds lot of other features. The new update includes a network photo gallery utility that makes it easier to share pictures with friends and more.
The update also includes a video editor and allows users to store, upload, and edit video right on the console for Facebook or YouTube. You also get the ability to give purchases on the PlayStation Store a rank with a number of stars. Power save settings are also added to allow the console to turn off automatically in two hours by default.
