Not long after HP gobbled up Palm one HP exec hinted that there might not be any more smartphones coming. That was denied and now Palm is hinting that next year will have some new devices.

The same Palm spokesperson also said that a new version of WebOS was in the works. Palm's current Pre and Pixi handsets have not sold as well as Palm wanted and new devices are certainly needed.

The Palm rep stated, "I'm not allowed to talk about future roadmaps, especially because we're in the process of being acquired by HP, so I can't say. But yes we have a road map. We are working on future devices. And [a] new version of the OS. So I think, you're going to find the next year very exciting."
