Planetronics readies up GameCom 777 7.1 headset

Includes Dolby USB soundcard

Planetronics has lifted the curtain on a succeeding model to its existing 5.1 gaming headphones which it calls the GameCom 777. The new headset will give virtual 7.1 surround sound using Dolby Headphone and Dolby ProLogic IIx technologies which they claim to give a much more immersive experience.

Further improvements have also been made in terms of a more durable, military-grade design and an open-ear construction with earpods that redistribute pressure for better comfort. The unit also has a telescoping, noise cancelling microphone with in-line volume and mic mute controls.

 

Another nice touch from Planetronics is the plug-and-play Dolby USB sound card that ensures all of the Dolby technologies will be utlized regardless of what sound source your PC has.

 

Planetronics is looking to place the new gaming headset on the market towards the end of this month at a price point not yet disclosed.
