HTC Desire coming to U.S. in August via regional carriers
The HTC Desire, which is an updated and sleeker version of the Nexus One, has been announced to be coming to U.S. shores in August. Oddly though, no major U.S. carrier was announced to be carrying it. MobileCrunch reported they received a note from HTC stating that the "HTC Desire will be coming to the US via select regional operators beginning this August."
No one's quite sure what this exactly means, but it may cross off the big boys like Verizon, Sprint, or AT&T but it also may be too early to tell. Personally it excites me a bit, as I live in an area where a "regional operator" is the only local possibility for cell phone service. It's about time the little companies get a shot at carrying the big name phones without having to wait 6 months to a year after their initial release.
