Sony debuts sound bar for PS3

By: (more) | HT & Movies News | Posted: Jun 16, 2010 7:02 pm

The PS3 has had some significant announcements over the last few days at E3 from new games to the Move controller getting an official price. Sony has also announced a new sound bar that will land in the US this fall called the CECH-ZVS1.

The system is a sound bar that creates virtual surround sound and is designed to pair with the PS3 for better sound. The device will carry a budget price of $199 and uses Sony S-Force PRO Front Surround tech to create surround sound from a single front speaker.

The sound bar has 10W of power per channel and uses a pair of 2" x 3 5/8" full-range bass reflex speakers along with four similarly sized passive radiators. Inputs include a single analog and digital optical input.
