RIM Tablet, Touch Phone in development

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Jun 15, 2010 9:58 pm

A report in the Wall Street Journal is stating that Research in Motion (RIM), the folks behind Blackberry, are developing a new tablet as well as a new touchscreen slider phone to combat the iPhones and Android phones of the world that are dominating the current news. RIM is hoping for a September release on the phone with a new OS and is hoping for the tablet to release by the end of the year.

No specs for the tablet have been released, but the new phone is stated to release with 4GB of storage, a 5mp camera, and the ability to search across the device and run multiple home screens. These are fairly ordinary stats when you consider the new iPhone with a minimum 16gb capacity or the bevy of Android options out there, but the Blackberry name itself will still hold quite a bit of water with some folks out there.
