Sony unveiling full 3D gaming support on PS3 with 20 titles scheduled

By: (more) | Gaming News | Posted: Jun 15, 2010 1:22 pm

In further support of their range of 3D capable LCD TVs, Sony is readying up the PS3 for 3D and will officially unveil the technology for the console at its E3 press conference in a matter of hours from now. There will be a decent batch of 3D ready game titles available for download straight off the bat including Wipeout HD, Super Stardust HD, Pain and MotorStorm Pacific Rift (a demo).

The Fight: Lights Out which was first demo'd at GDC with Sony's Move controller is also said to be on the list of available titles with 3D support. In a press conference earlier today SCEA president Jack Tretton stated that there will be 20 games in total built for 3D over the next year alone.

Further to the above, PS3 will also get the ability to play back 3D Blu-ray movies via a firmware update a little later this year.
