Chieftec has decided to take another splash into the PSU pool with its new Nitro series. These power supplies should be good candidates for those on a budget wanting enthusiast class features and standards without paying a premium.

The Nitro series is quite a large family with 10 units in total. They are broken into two catagories; the lower end with 350W, 400W, 450W and 500W non modular variants and upper scale 550W, 650W, 750W, 850W, 950W and 1.2KW modular variants. These power supplies are 80 Plus Bronze compliant, with the 1.2KW version being the exception with 80 Plus Silver compliance.

The lower end models all use dual +12V rail designs, whilse the 550 to 950W models use a single rail and the 1200W using dual 50A 12V rails.
