Starbucks WiFi will be free starting July 1st

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Jun 15, 2010 7:02 am

Starbucks has made an announcement that will make their customers more excited than their double-shot espressos: Starting July 1st, the Wifi will be free. Not only free costwise, but also free of registrations, giftcards, and all of the hoops that had seemed to be growing lately just trying to get online while enjoying your cup of coffee.

At first, Starbucks had hourly payment service through T-Mobile, then switched to an AT&T system requiring registration, giftcards, and tracking balances which had been getting irritating for all involved. This move to simple, no strings attached WiFi will make both customers and employees happy who had to play tech support while pouring drinks.

So later this summer, order that Venti Chai Crème Cappuccino and sit down with no worries that your internet connection will cost you while you're Facebooking instead of pretending to write that book that you almost had that girl believing you were working on.
