Toshiba has begun shipping a new Enterprise level series of 2.5-inch hard drives dubbed MBF which include the largest capacity SFF Enterprise HDD offerings available on the market at this time.

Being enterprise level, the MBF series use the SAS 6Gbps interface and spin at a rate of 10,025RPM. They carry a 16MB buffer and can be purchased in capacities of 300, 450 and 600GB.

Toshiba says the new MBF series drive are capable of delivering transfer rates of up to 216MB/sec, a very impressive figure for a 2.5-inch mechanical hard drive, indeed.

The MBF series of drives is now being delivered to OEMs and distributors including Avnet, Bell Micro, Ingram Micro and more.
