Magnetic macro lens gives cell pics new life

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Jun 10, 2010 2:15 am

So your EVO 4G's camera can take some pretty nice shots of your friends out and about or that funny sign you passed on the highway, but it's still "only a cell phone camera." Blurry, low quality macro shots are to be expected from phone cameras, right? Well, take a look around at most big name online retailers like Ebay and Amazon for a magnet-mounted macro lens.

There are tons of brands out there and of course they will set off your "these are cheap and not worth a dang" radar, but the folks at GoodAndEVO.net picked one up just for fun and the image quality is fairly staggering, even if your phone looks pretty silly with the lens attached. I found a few shopping around for less than 20 bucks. Not bad for a cell phone camera; keep it in your pocket for when you want a fairly nice picture on the go.
