The Alienware M11x is a slick little ultraportable gaming rig that has been around for a while now. This is one of the few 11-inch computers that you can actually try to play recent games on and expect decent frame rates.
Dell and Alienware announced yesterday that the M11x is getting some performance improvements by way of some new hardware options. The machine can now be fitted with new Intel 2010 core i7 processors with Turbo boost tech that are over-clockable.
The machine also gets NVIDIA Optimus tech to change between the GeForce GT 335M discrete GPU and Intel GMA integrated graphics. The small 11.6-inch screen has a 1366 x 768 resolution and it can be fitted with up to 8GB of RAM. Storage is up to 500GB via a 7200rpm HDD or 256GB with a SSD. Bluetooth 2.1 is optional and power comes from an 8-cell prismatic battery. The machine starts at $799.
