DirecTV unveils Whole Home DVR

One DVR for the whole house!
| Virtual & Augmented Reality News | Posted: Jun 8, 2010 5:14 pm

Ask a bunch of technology users what the most indispensible piece of home theater tech in their home is and most will say the DVR. The DVR is the one device in my home theater I won't live without.

DirecTV has announced a new Whole Home DVR solution that allows you to watch programs recorded on a single DVR in up to 15 different rooms. The DVR solution will shoot recorded video to any connected TV and each TV can control the playlist and manage recordings.

The new service adds $3 per month to the bill, but requires compatible DVRs. The new service will support more than one DVR as well. If you lack the HD DVR, they are $199 each and each TV has to have its own non-DVR converter to work.
