Anytime I have to work on a notebook for a long period of time, I end up changing to a normal mouse because I hate trackpads. I can live with most notebook keyboards, but I can't live with the trackpad.

Apple is apparently figuring that there are a lot of folks out there who would prefer to use a trackpad over a mouse even on their desktop computers. Apple is rumored to be unveiling a new device called the Magic Trackpad today.

The gadget has gesture control and is said to recognize handwriting as well. That last feature is very interesting. I would like to be able to digitally sign documents rather than print them off, sign, and scan them back in.
