Iomega unveils new external HDDs with USB 3.0 connectivity

External hard drives are one of the most important pieces of tech for many users who need them for backing up files and for storing data. Iomega is one of the big makers of this sort of gear and the company has announced a new line of external storage solutions for Mac and PCs.

 

 

The new eGo Portable HDD has 500GB of storage and has a USB 3.0 port for powering the device and fast connectivity. The drive is sized for portability and sells for $129.99. The company also offers a new USB 2.0 series of portable drives with 320GB for $94.99, the 500GB version is $114.99, and the 1TB version is $199.99.

 

Iomega also has a new USB 3.0 desktop had drive that sells for $149.99 for 1TB and $229.99 for the 2TB version. A new Mac version of the drive is the Mac Edition eGo for $159.99 with 1TB of storage or $249.99 with 2TB.
