ARM confirms Eagle as next-gen chip for high-end devices

COMPUTEX Taipei 2010 - A few months back there was a leaked ARM roadmap that showed a new high-end chip on the horizon for mobile devices called Eagle. We haven't heard much more about the chip with the Eagle code name.

Computex is underway this week and the chip codenamed Eagle has been confirmed as the next generation core for high-end devices and platforms to be coming from the company. ARM has processors inside a myriad of devices ranging from tablets to smartphones and other devices.


ARM also mentioned at the show that in the new version of Android 2.2 known as Froyo has ARM specific enhancements. These enhancements let the OS and ARM processors operate faster together.
