Non Intel-based Google TV boxes to be displayed at Computex

COMPUTEX Taipei 2010 - Walking around Taipei the day before Computex begins tends to unleash all sorts of interesting stories... or rumors we should say.

During our walk around this morning we heard whispers that a certain large Taiwanese company will be showcasing a Google TV set-top-box later today. We would have snappy some photos for you but this unit is still on the way, probably from China.

Due to confidentiality reasons we are unable to disclose who is making and selling the box, but we can tell you that it will be using VIA Tech silicon. This especially came to us as a shock since as far as we knew only boxes would come out with a special design Intel Atom processor and chipset.

More to come as the story develops.
