AMD releases Catalyst 10.5 WHQL Drivers

By: (more) | Video Cards News | Posted: May 27, 2010 9:08 am

In usual monthly fashion AMD has just released its latest Catalyst driver suite for Radeon graphics cards; the 10.5s. A separate Mobility 10.5 driver suite is also now available for mobile Radeon users.

There are two major additions to the 10.5 release. These include 120 Hz display support for all Radeon HD 4000 and 3000 series GPUs, meaning stereoscopic 3D is now possible. The other enhancements are found in the ATI Overdrive area, giving full support for overclocking functions even when cards are connected to multiple displays.

As always, AMD have managed to introduce a lot of bug fixes for the new release including Alien vs. Predator, Bad Company 2, Empire: Total War, IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946, Mass Effect 2, Napoleon: Total War, Resident Evil 5 and Splinter Cell Conviction. Some of these fixes are only applicable to certain versions of Windows, however.

The official release notes (in PDF form) for the Catalyst 10.5s can be read here.

Head over to the AMD Game website to grab them for both 32 and 64-bit builds of Windows XP, Vista and 7.
